Knee Pain Chiropractic Care
Can Chiropractic Care Help Knee Pain?
Knee pain is something many people experience at some point in their lives. It can make simple activities like walking, climbing stairs, squatting, or even standing for long periods feel uncomfortable or difficult.
Knee pain doesn’t always mean there is damage in the knee itself. Often, the way your hips, pelvis, or lower back move can change how much pressure is placed on your knees.
Common Symptoms of Knee Pain
- Swelling and Stiffness: Fluid buildup around the joint, making it difficult to fully bend or flex the leg.
- Instability or Weakness: A buckling sensation or feeling like the knee is “giving out” while walking or bearing weight.
- Painful Popping or Clicking: Popping, clicking, or grinding sensations that occur with pain during knee movement may be associated with irritation or injury involving the cartilage, meniscus, ligaments, or other structures around the knee.
- Joint Locking: Catching or inability to fully straighten the knee, typically caused by a meniscal tear or loose cartilage fragment.
- Redness and Warmth to the Touch: Visible inflammation and heat over the kneecap, which can signal acute inflammation, bursitis, or an infection.
- Difficulty Bearing Weight: Sharp, localized pain when placing weight on the leg or trying to step down.
- Persistent Aching: A continuous dull throb that worsens after long periods of standing, sitting, or exercise.
- Short Period of Morning Stiffness: The knee may feel stiff or difficult to move when you first get up, but this usually improves after a short period of movement.
How Chiropractic Can Help with Knee Pain
At My Chirocare, we take a personalised approach to knee pain. Our chiropractor will assess not only the knee itself, but also how the hips, pelvis, and spine may be influencing your movement patterns.
It is important to note that chiropractic care does not claim to “fix” structural joint damage. However, we have helped patients to relieve knee pain, improve mobility, and support better function in their everyday activities
Reduce muscle tension and improve joint mobility:
Release tight muscles that can contribute to knee pain. Enhance flexibility and range of motion in the spine, hip and knee joint.
Customised rehabilitative exercises: To rehabilitate and restore proper biomechanic of the lower back, pelvis, hips, knees and feet and correct the activation pattern of the muscles.
Don't let knee pain limit your activities.
If you are experiencing knee pain, stiffness, or reduced mobility, chiropractic care offers a structured, evidence-informed approach to help you move and function better.
